The Reverend Thomas G. Herrick, Executive Director

The Titus Institute is under the direction of Tom Herrick, whose ministry has been focused on church planting, particularly during the last 15 years–nine with the Church Planting Commission of the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia, and four as National Director for Church Planting with the Anglican Communion Network. While serving in these positions, Tom has worked closely with others who served on the Church planting Commission and on the Network’s Church Planting Task Force. Many of these colleagues now compose the Board of Directors and Ministry Associates of the Institute, bringing over a century of church planting experience to help share the work.

William Burke, President

Bill brings a variety of experience gathered over a 37 year business career to his volunteer position with Titus.  His background includes service as a Senior Tax Specialist with Price Waterhouse & Co; telecommunications and cable TV operations with a large service provider in Washington, DC; a NASDAQ real estate development & home building company; start-up and turnaround management consulting; and land-commercial-residential real estate development and brokerage. Throughout his career, he has also served in the leadership of church congregational councils, and local, national and international not-for-profit organizations.  A graduate of Georgetown University, where he completed undergraduate and post-graduate studies, Bill resides with his wife, Peggy in the Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC.

The Reverend Clancy Nixon, Vice-President

The Rev. Clarence B. (“Clancy”) Nixon III is Rector of Church of the Holy Spirit (Anglican) in Ashburn, Virginia. He is the founding pastor of this 200 member church. CHS is currently planting a second campus in Purcellville, VA. Church planting is a passion for Clancy; he coaches other church planters and he speaks at conferences around the country on that subject. He has served on several boards of mission organizations, including the Diocese of Virginia Church Planting Commission, Rock the World Youth Mission Alliance, Anglican District of Virginia (ADV) Church Planting Committee, the Anglican Communion Network Church Planting Task Force, and the ADV Synod Council.  He had a 15 year career as a corporate attorney with a business and finance practice, including with Cadwalader, Wickersham and Taft, and Freddie Mac, before entering full-time ministry.

R.W. Tolleson, Secretary

President of Tolleson & Company, an appraisal and commercial real estate firm based in Richmond, Virginia, Buddy has been a Member of All Saints Episcopal Church for 43-years, serving on Vestry for three terms. He has served on Diocese of Virginia Committees on Missions, Outreach, and Church Planting. In addition, he served on Bishop Lee’s staff for three years as a real estate consultant. Buddy is a graduate of the University of Georgia, Terry School of Business, with a major in Real Estate.

Ken Knight, Treasurer

Ken is the Executive Vice President for Cohen, Rutherford and Knight, P.C. in Bethesda, MD. He has served as Treasurer of Christ the Redeemer Anglican in Centreville, VA.

Bruce Mancinelli

Bruce has been the President and CEO behind numerous  successful start-up companies and currently manages a small strategic management consulting company, LIADAN Associates. He has been very active in Christ the Redeemer Anglican in Centreville, VA.
