Fresh Expressions US

A fresh expression is a form of church for our changing culture, established primarily for the benefit of people who are not yet members of any church.
  • it will come into being through principles of listening, service, incarnational mission and making disciples
  • it will have the potential to become a mature expression of church shaped by the gospel and the enduring marks of the church and for its cultural context
The Fresh Expressions movement started within the Church of England and the British Methodist Church as a response to the growing difficulties the Church faces in a post-Christendom culture and is taking shape here in the US by an emerging coalition of denominations, streams and agencies anchored by substantial support from the participating churches of the Baptist General Association of Virginia.
At its heart, Fresh Expressions believes that inherited forms of church  can train and release pioneers with a passion for people in networks and neighborhoods unreached by any church .
Over the past 10 years, 66,000 people have joined fresh expressions of church in the UK, 75% of whom were not already part of an existing congregation. We’re excited about what this important and Spirit-led work might mean here in the US.
Visit www.FreshExpressionsUS.org to register for updates, learn more about the movement and find out how you can inspire a fresh vision in your church by hosting an event in your area.
